Susanne Weirich

Susanne Weirich was born in 1962 and lives and works in Berlin. She studied Literature and the Arts in Münster. From 2000 until 2007 she was a Professor at Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg and from 2008 until 2009 a guest Professor at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee. Her works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions, for example at Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum Duisburg and Hamburger Kunsthalle. in 2008 she was awarded the Medienkunstpreis NRW. In her multimedial and trans-disciplinary installations Weirich investigates narrative structures conceptually. It is typical for her work to develop forms which stress the interplay of reality and fiction in everyday- and parallel-worlds.
