From May, 31st to June, 2nd Israeli artists Anna Yam and David Adika visited Bielefeld as guest artists in the project Outlooks. In this project, students from the Department of Photography at FH Bielefeld explored dimensions of migration in Ostwestfalen-Lippe in their photographic works. The workshop was a great opportunity for the students to present and discuss their work. For a start, Anna Yam and David Adika introduced their artistic work in two talks, which focused on questions of identity, home and migration with respect to both the photographic works and the biographies of the artists. Thereafter, conceptual and formal questions concerning the so far produced works of the students were raised. In this exchange of thoughts the students received lots of new impulses of which they can make use in their future works.
The project was made possible by kind support from the Embassy of the State of Israel – Berlin, Kulturamt Bielefeld and Volksbank Bielefeld.
