schir – art concepts, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and the Goethe Institut Jerusalem invites artists living and working in Germany to apply for a residency in Jerusalem in spring 2012.
The residency program allows the artist to experience the urban context of Jerusalem, to connect to the Israeli art scene and to work freely for three months. She or he will receive living quarters and a studio space in Jerusalem for three months. A team of art professionals will be of assistance in practical aspects of the stay and introduce the artist to the art scene. Furthermore, the artist will become part of the thriving department of photography at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, participating in activities and entering in a dialogue with faculty and students through workshops or talks. In addition, he or she will have a single exhibition in the beautiful exhibition space Yaffo 23 in the center of Jerusalem and take part in different events by the Goethe-Institut.
