Hans Stützer was born in Neumünster, Germany, in 1966. He lives and works in Hamburg. He studied in Hamburg and Jeruselm. His works have been shown in Wolfsburg, Hamburg and Jerusalem.
Stützer’s videos, drawings and objects deal with the question of strategies of constructing an identity and investigate the dynamics of selfperception in the realm of a constantly changing view on history (especially the german history). “We live in a landscape destroyed by a war fought by a society against itself and its own possibilities.”
