The most interesting things happen in between: between the lines, between two people, between heaven and earth. Only by thinking of what has not been said, by looking at what lies beneath, one comes across unforeseen ideas, new impressions and meaningful insights.
Gideon Tomaschoff leads the observer into these interspaces: between surface and contour, colour and light, vision and figure, thought and image.
This spring, invited by schir and the MMIII Kunstverein Mönchengladbach, he will visit another kind of inbetween: Somewhere between Israel, where Tomaschoff was born, and Toronto, where he has lived for the last 20 years, is Mönchengladbach. During Tomaschoffs two month residency, this location will be filled with impressions, experiences, thoughts and discussions.
Tomaschoff will invite the interested audience for an artist talk, take part in discussions and talks and finally open his first solo exhibition in Germany.
